James Franklin, who helped Missouri to a Cotton Bowl victory, started at QB for the American team in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. He completed five of eight passes for 77 yards and rushed for 4 yards in two carries. Franklin, who battled shoulder injuries during his college career, worked closely with former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Daunte Culpepper throughout the week.
“The important thing was working on my footwork, mechanics, accuracy and those things,” said Franklin, who has not been projected to be drafted by most experts. “Overall, I feel like it was a good week for me to work on my skills.”
