Missouri announces five early football signees

Missouri’s football team announced five early enrollees on Thursday, including four incoming freshmen who graduated high school early and will be on campus for the spring semester.
That group includes two players from Kansas City: Lee’s Summit West cornerback Logan Cheadle, 5 feet 10 and 170 pounds; and Blue Valley West offensive lineman Mike Fairchild, 6-5 and 280.
Cheadle tied a state record with three interceptions in the Titans’ Missouri Class 5 championship victory last month. His cousin, Don, starred in “Hotel Rwanda” and earned an Academy Award as a producer for “Crash.”
Fairchild helped the Jaguars reach the Kansas 5A semifinals. His father, Paul, played for the New England Patriots from 1984-90.
The Tigers also announced that linebacker Brandon Lee from Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis and quarterback Marvin Zanders from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Fla., would enroll early along with cornerback Kenya Dennis.
Dennis, who will be a junior, is a transfer from Hinds (Miss.) Community College and a Leland, Miss., native. He received honorable mention on the National Junior College Athletic Association All-America team .
