Henry Josey’s 65-yard run — Missouri’s longest play of the game — ended when was pushed out of bounds by Auburn safety Ryan White. But the play didn’t stop there. After Josey had stepped out, White continued to ride him and ended the play with a push that sent Josey into a motorized cart parked at the wall. It appeared Josey suffered a back injury.
White was penalized for a personal foul, and at the very least was an overly aggressive play. Some would say a cheap shot.
It was the final attempt for Josey, who finished with 123 rushing yards, pushing him over the 1,000-yard mark to 1,074 for the season. He brushed questions about the hit and his back.
“It’s fine,” Josey said. “I’ve been through worse.”
Yes, he has. Like a severe knee injury that kept him out of the 2012 season.
