For the second straight week and third time in four games, redshirt freshman quarterback Maty Mauk was selected as the SEC freshman of the week after his performance Saturday in a 48-17 victory at Kentucky.
Starting his fourth consecutive game in place of injured senior James Franklin, Mauk, who is likely to return to a backup role after Missouri returns from the bye, completed 17 of 28 passes for 203 yards with a five touchdowns.
He matched Chase Daniel’s Tigers record for most passing touchdowns in a single game. Daniel accomplished the feat four times, mostly recently at Colorado in 2008.

The Tigers now have 10 player of the week honors this season, extending a program record.
Mauk’s three weekly conference awards matches defensive end Michael Sam for the most this season and the most since Daniel won three Big 12 awards during the 2007 season.
Despite a team-record four receiving touchdowns, sophomore wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, who finished with seven catches for 100 yards, missed out on the offensive player of the week award.
It went to Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall, who completed three of seven passes for 35 yards with a touchdown and also rushing for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in a win against Tennessee.Kickoff set for Mississippi game
