Missouri picked up a recommitment from DeSmet offensive tackle Andy Bauer, who originally pledged to the Tigers, then switched to Mississippi before deciding Monday to honor his original commitment to MU. Missouri picked up a recommitment from DeSmet offensive tackle Andy Bauer, who made the announcement Monday on Twitter. Bauer originally committed to the Tigers after his sophomore year, but reopened his commitment last summer and wound up giving Mississippi a verbal pledge. But he reversed course again and will honor his original commitment to Missouri. “Through much prayer, discernment and communication with my family I have decided to attend and play football for the University of Missouri,” Bauer’s statement read in part. Bauer, 6 feet 6 and 304 pounds, is the top-ranked prospect in Missouri for the Class of 2014, according to Rivals.com. He is the No. 11 overall commitment at offensive tackle and ranked 105th overall by the recruiting service. Bauer has sat out all season because of a torn labrum in his hip, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He is recovering from an August hip surgery and is expected to enroll at semester. In addition to Missouri and Missisippi, Bauer has offers from nearly 40 BCS programs, including Alabama, Florida State, Kansas State and Ohio State.
