Missouri football players won two more weekly awards from the Southeastern Conference on Monday, breaking the program record for such honors in a single season.
Senior left tackle Justin Britt was chosen as the SEC’s offensive lineman of the week and redshirt freshman quarterback Maty Mauk was the freshman of the week, giving the Tigers nine weekly honors on the year.
The previous Missouri record was eight awards during the 2007 season.
Britt helped pave the way for 502 yards of offense during the ninth-ranked Tigers’ 31-3 victory against Tennessee last Saturday.
Missouri gained 339 yards on the ground, the most since in a conference game since racking up 376 yards in a 45-7 win against Iowa State on Nov. 29, 2003.
Meanwhile, rolled up 277 yards of total offense — completing 12 of 25 passes for 163 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, while adding 114 yards rushing on 13 carries.
It was Mauk’s second freshman of the week honor in three starts since taking over for injured senior starter James Franklin.
