Kansas State takes control early, beats Utah State 73-68

Despite playing in the only opening-round game of the NCAA Tournament that featured two ranked teams, the fifth-seeded Kansas State Wildcats took control early against No. 12 seed Utah State and won 73-68 on Thursday night at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz. With the win, K-State advanced to the third round, where it will take on fourth-seeded Wisconsin at 7:40 p.m. Saturday.
