Kansas freshmen Dylan and Dakota Gonzalez, twin guards and social media savants, are leaving the women’s basketball program and transferring to UNLV, the school announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Dakota Gonzalez averaged 4.4 points and 17.3 minutes per game while starting four games during her freshman season. Dylan Gonzalez scored just 1.1 points while playing 2.8 minutes per game.
The twins’ mother, Angie Snider, was a star player at both Bishop Miege and Kansas during the 1980s. Dylan and Dakota, who grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, were perhaps best known for their large following on social media.
The twins have more than 36,000 followers on a shared Twitter account and were even more popular on Instagram.
As of Tuesday, Dylan Gonzalez had more than 600,000 followers on Instagram, while Dakota had more than 500,000.
