Kansas’ Michael Stigler won the 400-meter hurdles at the Texas Relays on Friday in Austin, Texas. He has won the event at the meet three straight years.
Stigler had a time of 48.44 seconds, breaking the school record of 49.19 set in 2013.
The time also broke meet and stadium records and was the fastest time in the world this year.
“It feels great, especially doing it here,” said Stigler, who is from Texas.
Never miss a local story.
“It's a great facility, great fans and just to do it three years in a row, it's a blessing. Especially considering the field, this year is stacked and just to be able to pull off a win today here, in front of these fans, is just phenomenal.”
