Kansas’ women’s basketball team kept it close for three quarters, but Harvard pulled away in the final period and won 69-59 on Wednesday at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence.
The Crimson, 8-1, led only 47-45 heading into the fourth quarter.
Jeannie Boehm and Destiny Nunley scored 12 points for Harvard, Madeline Raster added 11 and Katie Benzan had 10 points. Boehm also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Chayla Cheadle, who scored 11 points, was the only player in double figures in scoring for the Jayhawks, 3-5. Jada Brown had 10 rebounds for Kansas.
Kansas shot only 33.8 percent from the field and turned the ball over 20 times.
The Jayhawks’ next game is 2 p.m. Sunday against Rhode Island at Allen Fieldhouse.
