Kansas State will begin the upcoming football season as a ranked team in at least one Top 25 poll.

The Wildcats debuted at No. 21 in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll on Thursday. They cracked the poll along with three other Big 12 teams. Oklahoma came in at No. 3, Baylor checked in at No. 10 and Texas was No. 24.

Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech were among a group of 27 schools that missed out on a ranking but received votes. Missouri received the most votes outside the top 25.

Defending national champion Florida State topped the poll, while Alabama followed at No. 2. Oregon, Auburn, Ohio State, UCLA, Michigan State and South Carolina rounded out the top 10.

After last season, Amway became the exclusive sponsor of the Top 25 poll, which is also conducted with the help of USA Today and the American Football Coaches Association.
