Big 12 football fans can start making autumn plans.
Kickoff times and television information for several games emerged from the league’s annual spring meeting in Irving, Tex.
The first conference tilt will happen on the season’s second weekend, Sept. 6. Kansas State visits Iowa State in a game that will kick off at 11 a.m. and appear of Fox Sports 1.
Two non-league games highlight the opening weekend. West Virginia meets Alabama in Atlanta on ABC or ESPN2 at 2:30 p.m., and Oklahoma State meets defending national champion Florida State in Arlington, Tex., on ABC at 7 p.m.
Kansas State is involved in early non-conference showdown when defending SEC champion Auburn visits Manhattan on Sept. 18. It’s one of four Thursday games that feature Big 12 teams on ESPN or Fox Sports 1.
The broadcast information for most Big 12 games will be announced six or 12 days before kickoff.
Every team has one game that will be broadcast on its in-house network. For the Wildcats, it’s the Aug. 30 opener against Stephen F. Austin. That game will be on K-StateHDTV and kick off at 6 p.m.
Kansas opener on Sept. 6 against Southeast Missouri State is the Jayhawks’ designated game on its channel, the Jayhawk Network.
