Northwest Missouri won its 22nd straight game on Saturday.
But the Bearcats played like they were making up for lost time.
Northwest Missouri scored 74 points in a 74-29 drubbing of Northeastern (Okla.) State in Maryville, Mo.
Northeastern State actually took a 6-0 lead on the third play from scrimmage on a 75-yard pass play for a touchdown.

It was all Bearcats from there. Northwest Missouri scored three straight TDs on way to building a 46-15 halftime lead.
Northwest Missouri receiver Shawn Bane Jr. caught four passes for 157 yards with two TDs in the game.
The Bearcats finished with 388 yards rushing and 291 yards passing.
Northwest Missouri, which improved to 7-0 on the season, plays at Lindenwood next week.
Western Illinois 38, Missouri State 35: Devon Moore made his only carry count as his second-effort on a 1-yard touchdown run with less than a minute to play lifted Western Illinois to the victory at Missouri State. The Bears’ Brodie Lambert completed 24 of 43 passes for 290 yards with five touchdowns, including three straight in the fourth quarter as Missouri State surged ahead 35-31 with 4:22 remaining. Lambert was picked off three times.
Pittsburg State 55, Missouri Western 47: The Gorillas built a 55-26 lead and then held on for the win in St. Joseph despite Missouri Western’s late rally of three fourth-quarter touchdowns. Pitt State quarterback John Roderique passed for a career-high 373 yards with five touchdowns. The Gorillas’ Brenner Clemons had two receiving touchdowns (49 and 44 yards) and finished with six catches for 153 yards. Michael Rose ran for 175 yards in 128 carries with two TDs.
Missouri Western’s Josh Caldwell rushed for 188 yards in 23 carries, while Griffons quarterback Skyler Windmiller threw for 392 yards with three touchdowns.
Emporia State 35, Lindenwood 28: Emporia State quarterback Braxton Marstall scored the game-winning touchdown on a 15-yard run with 15 seconds left in the game at Emporia. It was Marstall’s second rushing touchdown of the game. But he spent the better part of the day passing. Marstall completed 39 of 51 throws for 317 yards and a touchdown.
Lindenwood held a 7-0 lead at halftime. And the game was tied 14-14 heading into the final quarter, but Emporia State capped a high-scoring fourth with Marstall’s winning score.
Central Missouri 56, Missouri Southern 7: Mules quarterback Garrett Fugate, a BlueValley Northwest grad, rushed for 95 yards in nine carries with a touchdown and completed 22 of 36 passes for 275 yards with four TDs.
Washburn 30, Fort Hays State 24: The Ichabods scored first when Cody Summers went in from 26 yards out on a fake field goal. Washburn built a 20-0 lead and then held on from there for the win in Topeka.
MidAmerica Nazarene 52, Evangel 21: The Pioneers scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to take control of the game at Ozark, Mo. Javon Taylor rushed for 171 yards with a TD for MidAmerica Nazarene, while quarterback Trey Cooper threw for 253 yards with five touchdowns for the Pioneers.
