Votes will be counted for postseason honors in college basketball this week. Nobody wants to wait until April to identify award winners, so we vote, and selecting a player of the year in the Big 12 could prove difficult. Same with the Southeastern Conference.
The only certainties about the Big 12 are that Kansas will finish in first place and TCU will be last.
As the Big 12 season enters its final week, the most fascinating race is for second place. Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas and Oklahoma are all tied with 10 conference victories. Each could finish second as easily as they could finish fifth.
Every time Kansas State wins an important basketball game, it seems to reveal something new about itself.
