Snake photo unnerving

A reader had a strong reaction to a photo in today’s paper. And I can’t say that I blame her, either. Images can evoke powerful emotions.

An emailer shared something in the print edition today that gave her the heebie-jeebies:

On the front page of the Monday, July 7 edition, I opened the paper and the vivid image of a snake was there (top right corner) and then again, on the whole front page of the FYI section.

I know it may be unreasonable, but I am one of those persons, that is terrified of snakes, even an image of one!

Understandably the story could not be written without the image, but I am still unnerved at the sight of them.

That isn’t unreasonable at all in my book. She’s far from the only one who felt that way, I’m certain.
