Updated: Star iPhone app having issues for some

The iOS 7 upgrade isn’t smooth for all users of The Star’s iPhone app. The fix is on the way, but it must be approved by Apple to be pushed out. It may be a few days before it’s available.

You don’t need all the technical particulars, but developers have discovered the problem is because the new version of iOS dropped support of a font integral to the app (and to apps from other vendors as well). The fix is on the way, but it must be approved by Apple to be pushed out. It may be a few days before it’s available. If you haven’t installed the 7.0.3 update, you might want to hold off for now. I’ve heard multiple reports this morning from users who have installed iOS version 7.0.3 on their iPhones. This new version of the software is causing problems with The Star’s

dedicated iPhone app

for many.

I don’t have much more to share at this point, other than to tell you that developers are aware of the issue and working on it as a high priority. In the meantime, the mobile site at

http://m.kansascity.com

is working fine on the iPhone.

Those who haven’t upgraded to the latest version of the operating system seem to be sailing along as usual. I’ll keep you updated here when the fix arrives.
