Normally most people would hope that Missouri would have nothing in common with Texas.
Unfortunately the two states share the dishonor of having the most executions in the United States this year. Each is tied with 10 men.
That’s despite executions nationally being at a 20-year low, The Kansas City Star reports. Missouri’s count represented 28 percent of the 35 executions in the U.S. this year.
It is not a distinction that anyone in the Show-Me State should be proud of — even for people like me who aren’t against capital punishment.
