Warm weather in forecast will bring welcomed change

After a couple of days of clouds and threatening skies, the weather in the Kansas City area will break toward sunshine and warmer times with the start of the week.

That’s good. Aside from selling a lot of snow shovels and other deicing equipment, the record cold and freezing precipitation have dampened sales among area retailers in the first quarter.

Blue skies and sunshine with coat-free temperatures in the 60s by Monday should be liberating for area residents. Could gardening and grass mowing come sooner this year than normal?

Each, after the hard winter, certainly would be welcomed.
