The drought in California has grabbed people’s attention, but a similar water shortage is gripping Brazil.

Water is being rationed to nearly 6 million people in 142 cities, spanning 11 states in that South American nation. Temperatures are high and rainfall is off creating one of the worst droughts in decades.

Just like the drought in California, the drought in Brazil is expected to hurt that country’s coffee and other agricultural production. Global warming is real, and the effects are becoming more difficult to deny.
