Tattoos all about the show in Miss America competition

Miss Kansas, Theresa Vail, made quite a splash before and during the Miss America competition on Sunday with her tattoos.

The swimsuit competition revealed the Serenity Prayer on her right side and the insignia of the U.S. Army Dental Corps on her left shoulder. Vail made it to the final 10 with Miss New York Nina Davuluri being crowned Miss America.

The Atlantic City competition televised nationwide is about who stands out the most in the judges’ minds, and the tattoos certainly didn’t hurt Vail in this day and age of young people and athletes admiring each others’ “ink.”

But one has to ask with the Serenity Prayer tattooed on his waist, how is Vail able to read it? It must be what she embodies and wants others to see about her when she is sporting a swimsuit or less vs. what’s there for her to read and enjoy.
