Is George Zimmerman the new O.J. Simpson?

George Zimmerman was acquitted in July of second-degree murder in the February 2012 gunshot slaying of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. But like O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted of two homicides in the 1995, Zimmerman appears likely to stay under the spotlight.

Think of George Zimmerman as the new O.J. Simpson.

Zimmerman, 29, was acquitted in July of second-degree murder in the February 2012 gunshot slaying of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. But like O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted of two homicides in the 1995, Zimmerman appears likely to stay under the spotlight.

Lake Mary, Fla., police are investigating a domestic dispute involving Zimmerman and his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman. Shellie Zimmerman called 911 saying Zimmerman was threatening her and her father with a gun and had punched her dad in the nose, The Associated Press reported.

Police said no gun was ever found. However, they were trying to get video evidence from Shellie Zimmerman’s broken iPad, which Zimmerman is alleged to have smashed. It all took place in a Lake Mary house that Shellie Zimmerman’s father owns with his wife.

Shellie Zimmerman, however, had moved out of the place last month, where she and Zimmerman had been living, but had stopped by with her dad on Monday to get some things. That’s when the conflict started.
