It’s hard to apply Missouri’s “Show Me” state motto to the mild winter that federal forecasters are promising for the country.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts that the winter won’t be as harsh as the one that kept the Midwest and other parts of the nation in the deep freeze a year ago. The Arctic blasts from the polar vortex won’t revisit the country, The Associated Press reports.
The Kansas City area will likely get its usual snow and cold instead of the extremes of last winter. That will be a relief.
But in Missouri, seeing (and feeling) is still the only way we will believe.
