Puny streetcar vote approves huge tax increases

In Wednesday's streetcar victory, only 350 downtown Kansas City voters favored imposing $7.1 million annually of higher sales and property taxes. That's barely 10 percent of the 3,600 registered voters in the transportation district where voters were even allowed to vote on the taxes, per state law
