A $27 million funding package for 18th and Vine that appeared stalled could still get consideration by the Kansas City Council.
The proposal sponsor, Councilman Jermaine Reed, has used a legislative maneuver to get the plan on the council docket.
Jermaine has proposed a $27.6 million bond package to help fund improvements to the 18th and Vine Jazz District. But after a four-hour debate June 8 in a joint council committee meeting, the measure stalled on a 4-4 vote.
Reed said he has chosen to call the ordinance out of committee and put it before the full council, although it remains uncertain whether it has majority support from the 13-member council.

The measure could be heard June 23. If it is not advanced that day, it will be voted on July 7.
