Vicky Heston knelt Wednesday beside the memorial to her daughter Jennifer DeFranco that is on the front lawn of Blue Valley High School. Jennifer and two fellow 15-year-old classmates died 10 years ago in a car accident while on the way to a school softball game. A grove of trees and other memorials are on school grounds in honor of students who have died while attending Blue Valley.
