There was no way Lucy was going to be left out.
When her owners, Whitney and Jeremy Bowie, decided to do an informal maternity photo shoot, Lucy kept jumping into the shots.
Lucy, the family’s rat terrier, “kept hopping on our legs and trying to get in our pictures,” Whitney told BuzzFeed News.
So the Texas couple posed for a few photos with their four-legged family member.
Never miss a local story.
Whitney’s mom was taking the photos. When she zoomed in to get that iconic shot of mommy and daddy’s hands resting lovingly on the baby bump, Lucy pulled off a memorable photobomb.
She put her paw on Whitney’s belly, too.
Lucy has apparently been hanging out on Facebook, Pinterest and mommy blogs, where other moms have purposefully posed like this.
Whitney’s 16-year-old sister, Atalia, cracked up when she saw the pic, then did what teens on Twitter do — she tweeted it.
“The cutest part of this maternity photo isn’t even the baby bump,” PopSugar declared.
Since July 25, the photo has been retweeted nearly 44,000 times and liked more than 107,000 times.
“My phone was going off,” Atalia told BuzzFeed. “It was crazy. I think a verified account must have retweeted it and then it rocketed from there.”
The Bowies, by the way, who live in southeast Texas, had a baby boy last week. They named him Raylan Gregg.
