Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel spoke during a press conference Thursday about Aaron Feis, who died Wednesday night after being critically injured after jumping in front of shooter Nikolas Cruz to protect students. Feis was an assistant football coach and security guard at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
A 19-year-old suspected of killing at least 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in a mass shooting on February 14 was arrested a short distance from the school on the same day. The suspect was named as Nikolas Cruz, and charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder.
Students were evacuated by law enforcement in response to reports of an active shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Law enforcement from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the Hallandale Beach Police Department responded.
Nashville Mayor Megan Barry revealed that she had an extramarital affair with Sgt. Robert Forrest, the former head of her security detail. Barry apologized to her husband, Bruce, who she said remains committed to their marriage, and said she plans to continue serving in office.

A brazen thief was caught on home surveillance stealing a couple’s dog from outside their home in Denver, Colorado, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. The person was captured swiping Jaime Gastelle’s seven-month-old Shih Tzu, Zoe, from the front yard of her home. In the video, the thief can be seen driving past the house in a black pickup truck, before returning to pick up the dog. The suspect then takes the puppy to the truck and drives away.
