A seminar next week focusing on the reality of violence and drugs will examine the problem from both an urban and suburban perspective.</p><p>The seminar, which is open to the public, takes place next Tuesday night at the Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village.</p><p>Among those participating are Alvin Brooks, former Kansas City Council member and longtime anti-crime community leader, and Charles Jackard, former alternative high school principal in the Shawnee Mission School District.</p><p>Students from area urban and suburban neighborhoods also will participate.</p><p>The seminar begins at 5 p.m. with area service providers available to answer questions and distribute information. The main program runs from 7 to 9 p.m.</p><p>The seminar is free, but registration is requested.
