KANSAS CITY | Woman accused of killing partner
Prosecutors on Tuesday accused Blanche L. Johnson, 38, of Kansas City, of killing her live-in partner Sunday after the partner said she wanted to end their relationship.
According to court documents: Johnson was in the victim’s van in the 6600 block of South Benton Avenue when the victim, Yolanda Walker, 38, said she wanted to break up. Johnson pulled a handgun and shot Walker twice in the chest. Johnson, who accidentally shot herself in the ankle, limped away. Police arrested her the next day. She is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. According to court documents, police had quelled a disturbance at the couple’s residence several hours before the shooting.
ATCHISON COUNTY | Signs of violence surround disappearance
The search continued Tuesday for a woman police think was taken by force from her rural Atchison County home.
Police think Patricia Kimmi, 58, was taken from her home near Horton Friday evening.
Her daughter, Rita Boller, said items were in disarray at her mother’s home and searchers on Monday found part of her dentures by the side of a road.
“It’s so hard to know who in the world would plan this out and do it,” she said. “Nothing was taken from the home, not one single thing.”
Anyone with information on Kimmi’s whereabouts should call Atchison County sheriff’s dispatchers at 913-367-4323.
OLATHE | Charge in FBI shooting
Federal prosecutors on Tuesday charged Nicholas H. Henry, 26, who was shot in a gunfight with federal agents, with possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Henry, who lives in Olathe, moved from the hospital to the Johnson County jail last week. His father, Robert Henry, said his son received treatment for 14 gunshot wounds after the Nov. 1 shootout in a shopping center parking lot at 151st Street and Ridgeview Road.
Authorities said Henry pulled a bullet-proof vest and a handgun out of a stolen pickup truck and fired at agents who were trying to arrest him in aggravated assault and probation violations.
No officers were hurt.
