Leavenworth traditions make 8 Wonders of Kansas Customs list

Two Leavenworth traditions are among the 8 Wonders of Kansas Customs.

The winners included taking a whirl on the historical C.W. Parker carousels in Leavenworth and Abilene. Another winner was “ordering a soda fountain treat” at one of the 38 operating facilities left in Kansas. The Corner Pharmacy — a beloved Leavenworth institution — is one of those facilities. Winners were ranked by popular vote and released by the Kansas Sampler Foundation in Inman, Kan.
