Al Franken calls Trump’s approach to problems ‘childlike’
Minnesota Sen. Al Franken on Wednesday ridiculed Donald Trump for his “childlike” approach to big issues.
Speaking to the Missouri delegation to the Democratic National Convention, Franken said Trump espouses “magical” solutions to the country’s big meaty, complex issues.
“They’re going to be solved by him, and it’s going to be fast. We’re going to beat ISIS, and I’m not going to tell you (how), but it’s going to be fast,” the Democrat and former “Saturday Night Live’’ star said of Trump’s approach. “This is a childlike thinking.”
Trump, he said, has no problem-solving process. “He’s not interested.”
The GOP nominee is a “joke, and we have the real deal,” he said in a reference to Hillary Clinton.
“I trust her to do the work,” Franken said of Clinton.
He also called Trump a narcissist.
“This guy sees things only from a very, very narrow, and I think sick, point of view,” Franken said.
