Nutter donates $50K to streetcar opponents; supporters pick up $50K of their own

Longtime rail opponent James Nutter has given $50,000 to SmartKC, the PAC set up to oppose the transportation district extension for the streetcar project.

Nutter’s opposition has meant problems for light rail proposals in the past.

ConnectKC, the pro-streetcar committee, got $25,000 last week from Herzog Contracting and $25,000 from Burns and McDonnell.
