Republican Milton Wolf sees big things ahead for himself in Kansas in the wake of Virginia congressman Eric Cantor’s stunning loss Tuesday night.

Wolf, a tea party candidate, is waging an uphill fight against three-term incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts in the state’s August primary.

Cantor, the House’s number two leader, was upset by tea party candidate Dave Brat.

Said CNN political analyst David Gergen: “This will be an earthquake. This will send shock waves through the Republican ranks.”

Wolf insisted those shock waves would reach Kansas.

“Eric Cantor isn't the only incumbent from Virginia who is going to lose his primary this year,” Wolf said in a statement to reporters. “On August 5th, it’s Pat Roberts' turn.”
