The Kansas Federation of College Republicans says Donald Trump is unwelcome to “spew hate from our campuses,” and that he should apologize for his proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from the U.S.
In a statement released Wednesday, the group urges “peers and leaders in our communities” to reject Trump’s language and message.
The statement involves more than just Trump’s views on Muslims. The group and its board “object to the violent and hateful anti-Muslim proposals Donald Trump has made in addition to his speech against war heroes, women, immigrants and those who are disabled.”
It says the federation will not ask Trump to any of its member campuses until the GOP front-runner says he’s sorry. “His statements are unbecoming a leader in the Republican field and cannot be tolerated,” the statement says.
The group’s roster of member schools includes KU, K-State, Pittburg State, Wichita State, Washburn and Newman University.
