President Barack Obama on Monday called Royals manager Ned Yost following the team’s stunning 12-inning win Sunday over the New York Mets to win the World Series.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the president made the call aboard Air Force One as the president flew to Newark, New Jersey.
“The President said the team was a lot of fun to watch and that they'd made long-suffering Royals fans justifiably proud,” Earnest told reporters. “He said he was looking forward to welcoming the team to the White House to celebrate their victory.”
No date for that visit was set.
Never miss a local story.
But first, there’s a certain parade route that has to be traveled on Tuesday.
