Progress KC, the committee behind the April vote on water bonds in Kansas City, has given $10,000 to Freedom, Inc

.

At the end of the year, Progress KC had less than $6,000 on hand. But it got $7,500 from

Burns and McDonnell on March 13 and $20,000 from Black and Veatch

March 21.

It isn’t known what position Freedom has or will take on the water bonds, which will be paid for by water customers. In October 2013, Freedom said it opposed a translational sales tax because it hurt the poor.

UPDATE:

Steve Glorioso, a spokesman for the water campaign, says Freedom has endorsed the bonds.
