The Missouri Ethics Commission has dismissed a complaint filed against UMKC chancellor Leo Morton

in connection with last year’s ill-fated health research sales tax.

Morton was accused of using public funds to distribute information about the proposed Jackson County levy.

The commission dismissed the case, saying there was “no violation” of state law.
