Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback says he wants to see a ruling before he comments on how he’ll respond to an order from the state Supreme Court that could call for the state to spend millions more on public schools.
“Let's see what they do,”Brownback told Scott Rothschild of the Lawrence Journal-World
The governor said his primary concern is ensuring that schools are not shut down, a reference to 2005 when the Kansas Supreme Court briefly considered keeping schools closed until legislators complied with court-ordered funding.
In a year-end interview, Brownback also talked about abortion legislation, voter registration and renewable energy.
