Former Kansas City Mayor Charles Wheeler

is getting rid of some stuff.

He’s holding an estate sale Friday from (updated with correct time) 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the old Westport Shopping Center, 1004 Westport Rd.

Kathe Kaul

Estate Sales and Appraisal Services is conducting the sale.

In a release, she said:

“Sorting through the assortment has been like a walk through recent history. Wheeler was a friend and fan of Harry Truman, thus we have signed Truman items, not to mention other collectibles for sale.”

Art, furniture, souvenirs, and hats will be available for purchase. It isn’t an auction — all items will have a sticker price.

Wheeler and his wife recently moved from their home after struggling to make the payments.
