The cash went to, among other things, consultant companies run byJeff Roe, Steve Glorioso, Larry Jacob, Pat O’Neill, and Pat Gray
The figures do not include at least $434,000 the committee raised after Sept. 30.
The committee spent $644,750 on campaign expenses and gave $50,000 to theJackson County Democratic Coalition
, bringing total spending to $694,750.
UPDATE:Citizens for Responsible Research, Brad Bradshaw’s
committee agains the research tax, reports raising $113,506 in money, in-kind donations, and loans through Sept. 30.
Bradshaw has given $56,700 in cash, loaned another $50,000, and given $6,306 in in-kind help.
It spent $97,424 — mostly on TV ads and billboards.
The figures do not include a $55,000 donation from Bradshaw on Oct. 11.
Substitute teacher and former Kansas City Star reporterJim Fitzpatrick has given $4,000 to his own Committee to Stop a Bad Cure
, set up to oppose the half-cent health research tax on Jackson County’s November ballot.
The committee reports another $295 in contributions through the end of September.
Most of the money has gone for billboards and website development.
