Rep. Sam Graves

has announced a public forum on the future of Kansas City International airport.

The meeting is set for Aug. 19, next Monday.

Graves, a Republican, is considered a skeptic on the airport.

“We are lucky to have such a safe and convenient airport located in Missouri’s 6th congressional district,” Graves said in his news release.

“While I recognize that there are challenges to the airport’s configuration and issues that need to be addressed, I feel that there are better ways to address these concerns than by constructing a new, and expensive, single terminal. Monday’s forum will allow the public to weigh in with their thoughts, and to begin a dialogue on the future of their airport.”

It starts at 4 p.m., and will be held at city hall in Riverside.

Graves’ office says it would like RSVPs. The number is 816-792-3976.
