In Martha's Vineyard this morning, where President Barack Obama is on vacation, a reporter asked White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest for the official presidential reaction to calls from the Missouri chapter of the NAACP for the Department of Justice or Secret Service to investigate the State Fair rodeo clown caper.
Earnest, who grew up in Kansas City, referred reporters to the Department of Justice for its reaction. He said he hadn't talked to colleagues in the White House and hadn't heard if Obama had a reaction to the rodeo clown.
But he added, “As a native Missourian, it's certainly not one of the finer moments for our state and not the way that I like to see our state mentioned in the news.”
