Jackson County judge to retire

Jackson County judge Vernon Scoville

is stepping down.

The former state lawmaker released a statement Wednesday confirming the judicial retirement.

“I still love my job, but I believe it’s always a good time to leave while you still enjoy what you do,” Scoville’s statement said.

Scoville plans to continue teaching, the statement says. He also says he plans more time with his family.

Jay Nixon will appoint a replacement.
