Graves asks if IRS has targeted small businesses

Rep. Sam Graves, R-Mo., has written the Internal Revenue Service

, asking it a series of questions about its practices in auditing small businesses.

Graves chairs the House Small Business committee.

“Recent Congressional investigations have raised questions about IRS targeting,” Graves’ letter says.

The committee wants to know how small businesses are chosen for audits, how many audits have been done, and how much they cost, among other things.
