Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts is calling for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign.

An aide to the Republican senator confirmed for The Buzz Thursday morning that Roberts has become one of the first senators to demand Holder’s ouster. KMBZ Radio first reported the story.

Roberts, a former newspaper editor, is unhappy with Holder’s involvement in approving a decision to subpoena Fox News telephone records. That was done in the course of a Justice Department investigation of an unauthorized leak concerning North Korea.

The senator, who is up for re-election next year, spent much of Wednesday in the Kansas City area.

Texas Sen. John Cornyn has also called for Holder’s resignation.

More coming.
