Nixon signs bill on NKC hospital sale

Controversy has raged in North Kansas City for almost a year

Gov. Jay Nixon has signed the bill

requiring a public vote before North Kansas City Hospital can be sold.

The law requires two-thirds of the hospital’s trustees, a majority of the city council, and a majority of voters to approve a sale before it takes effect.

That should put the controversy to rest for a while.
