The Kansas City Council may have some advice for President Barack Obama.

Don’t cut Social Security. Or Medicare. Or Medicaid. Or VA benefits. Or housing assistance, or unemployment help.

Do cut defense spending. Close corporate tax “loopholes.” Boost income taxes over for those earning more than $250K.

The Housing Committee approved the resolution Wednesday. The full council will take it up next week.

The economy may be fixed by the following Friday.

Councilmembers Dick Davis, Ed Ford, Jim Glover, Cindy Circo, Jan Marcason, Jermaine Reed, and Melba Curls are sponsors.
