To no one’s surprise, Kansas City Councilman Jim Glover has asked for a recount in his re-election race against Katheryn Shields in Kansas City’s 4th district at-large contest.
In unofficial election night results, Glover had 16,386 votes. Shields had 16,496. Those totals may have shifted slightly in the official canvass, but the margin remains under one percent, the recount threshold in Missouri.
Shields is a political veteran, having served on the council and as Jackson County Executive. Glover is seeking re-election to his second four-year term.
