Is Republican dominance beginning to reassert itself in Kansas?
Two new polls out Wednesday suggest that may be happening.
A survey from Fox News showed Republican Sen. Pat Roberts leading independent Greg Orman by 44-39 percent.
The same survey had Gov. Sam Brownback up by 46-40 percent over Democrat Paul Davis.
“We know that partisanship tends to assert itself as Election Day nears,” said Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who conducts the Fox News poll along with Democratic pollster Chris Anderson. “And that may be happening in Kansas.”
Earlier Wednesday, a new survey from CNN had Roberts ahead of Orman, but barely, by 49-48 percent and the governor’s race knotted up at 49 percent each.
