On the day Jeb Bush is expected to formally announce his candidacy for the White House, the architect of George W. Bush’s political career is visiting the Kansas City area.
Karl Rove is keynoting the American Legion Boys State meeting at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg Monday.
“Mr. Rove will address nearly 1,000 of Missouri’s finest high school juniors who are participating in a week-long citizenship and leadership training program,” the news release says.
Rove is not connected with any of the current GOP presidential candidates. Last week he urged the contenders to go easy on each other.
It isn’t known if he’ll repeat that advice at Boys State in Missouri.
The keynote speech has drawn some impressive names over the years. Last year it was David Axelrod. Mike Huckabee, Bob Woodward, and Jack Danforth have also spoken to the group.
